Considering the safe pH level for an aquatic life habitat is between 6 and 9.5, and concrete slurry can have a pH level of 12, we want to keep our fragile aquatic environments safe by keeping our slurry out of the water! We use a variety of methods to eliminate the environmental risks. These images show our use of slurry rings which encapsulate the core barrel while the drilling occurs. The slurry ring is connected to a slurry vacuum which sucks the slurry away as we drill.
